Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of adults experiencing mental health challenges?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist with mental health experience to join our inpatient team at Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant. In this role, you will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) setting, ensuring the delivery of an evidence-based, occupation-focused service.
You will benefit from regular professional supervision with the OT Team Lead, as well as peer supervision and support through the Band 6 Professional Development Forum.
Our inpatient mental health unit accommodates individuals both informally and under the Mental Health Act, making a strong understanding of relevant legislation essential for this role. This post is directly supervised by the Band 7 Team Lead, with additional support from a fellow Band 6, a Rotational Band 5, and a Band 3 OT Technician.
As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, You Will
- Promote recovery and self-management strategies to empower service users.
- Conduct comprehensive OT assessments to inform intervention plans, identify strengths, and develop adaptive strategies.
- Play a vital role in reducing hospital admissions and supporting inclusion.
- Actively contribute to risk assessment, ensuring effective risk management in collaboration with the MDT.
- Provide an occupational perspective within MDT care plans.
