We are looking for a Band 6 dietitian to to join our friendly paediatric team at Warwick Hospital. We are ideally looking for a dietitian with paediatric and home enteral feeding experience.
Role
If interested candidates have limited experience in paediatrics, we may consider offering this role at Band 5 initially with progression to Band 6 pending completion of relevant paediatric dietetic competencies. Clinical support will be provided. To be considered for a developmental role option the successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
- a new graduate who has completed a specialist paediatric placement
OR
- an experienced dietitian with transferable skills from another clinical area
You will be working with infants, children and adolescents in Warwickshire. This role includes outpatient, inpatient and community settings including a home enteral feeding caseload. See the post outline for details.
You need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Working as a member of the dietetic team and with other healthcare professionals, you will deliver an efficient and evidence-based dietetic service.
You will be based at Warwick Hospital but will be required to travel across the county of Warwickshire for meetings, training, team support and possible countywide caseload, therefore must be a car user or have access to suitable transport options.
The successful candidate will have a presence at the office base and for in-person care but the Trust also supports flexible and hybrid working.
The Department has excellent administrative support and IT facilities. We use electronic patient records.
The Department trains student dietitians (A, B and C placements) and you will participate in their supervision on all placements.
This Post Holder Will
Work as an autonomous practitioner to advise on the dietary management of patients on a specialist caseload.
With appropriate post graduate training assess, treat and manage own caseload of patients in the designated specialist area, with support as necessary from senior colleagues.
Promote the ethos of self-management and prevention to patients, staff and carers to prevent nutritional problems, medical conditions and complications.
Provide advice, training and support to other health & social care professionals.
Liaise with dietetic colleagues and other members of multidisciplinary teams as necessary e.g. medical, nursing, catering and other health and social professionals.
