Adult Inherited Metabolic Diseases (AIMD),

As a
Specialist Pharmacist (AIMD, Lipids & Diabetes/Endocrinology), you will:
- Provide expert, patient-centred care in specialist outpatient clinics for Adult Inherited Metabolic Diseases, lipid disorders, and diabetes/endocrinology, including independent prescribing and complex medicines optimisation.
- Act as a clinical leader and role model, offering specialist advice to multidisciplinary teams and ensuring the highest standards of safe, evidence-based practice.
- Lead and develop innovative pharmacy services, including the creation of treatment guidelines, clinical pathways, and medicines optimisation strategies.
- Support seamless transitions of care between hospital and community settings, ensuring continuity and improving patient outcomes.
- Mentor and train junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians along with our trainee staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
- Contribute to research, clinical audits, and service evaluations to drive improvements.
- Horizon scan for new therapies and service developments, ensuring safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines.
- Represent the pharmacy service at Trust and directorate-level meetings, ensuring specialist pharmacy priorities are recognised and delivered.
