A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic senior clinical pharmacist with vision, excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills to join the Critical Care Pharmacy Team at King’s College Hospital.
King’s Critical Care is the largest critical care service in the United Kingdom, and one of the best performing. We are very fortunate to have a new state of the art 60-bed critical care unit. This brings exciting new challenges and opportunities. Our patient case mix is very interesting and dynamic, the Trust is commissioned have more than 100 level 2/3 beds, across two sites. We are recognised nationally and internationally for our work as a designated liver transplant centre, bone-marrow transplant centre, trauma centre for the Southeast, as well as a tertiary neurology and cardiothoracic referral centre (including an ECMO service).
This role offers opportunities for professional development. The successful applicant will be a team player with clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. At least a foundation-level knowledge of critical care is required.

The post holder will ensure the continued provision and development of high-quality, clinically led pharmacy services, influencing senior clinicians and managers within cardiovascular and critical care divisions while managing junior pharmacy team members. This role involves delivering a clinical pharmacy service at an Advanced level, as defined in the RPS Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum.
The successful candidate will provide evidence-based pharmaceutical care to critical care service users. They will support critical care wards by participating in consultant-led multidisciplinary rounds, promoting good prescribing practices, and delivering outstanding patient-centred care. Additionally, they will contribute to training, guideline development, clinical audit, and service evaluations.
The Clinical Pharmacy Service at King’s is highly respected, patient-centred, and research-oriented. Staff development is a priority, with strong support for personal and professional growth.
