An exciting opportunity for a permanent Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist has arisen to join the Sheffield Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Service working in the Acute Stroke Service (the hyper acute stroke unit and the acute stroke unit) with potential to rotate across the Stroke pathway, working 22.5 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and progressive team that values research and service improvement to work with patients from across the region.
The successful post holder will provide clinical Speech & Language Therapy to a defined specialised caseload as part of the SLT stroke pathway team.
The SLT service across both the acute and community teams in STH has approximately 55 staff (47 therapists, 7 assistants and 4 secretarial staff) (41.23wte).
The SLT teams are highly motivated to provide a quality service to their patients, they are research active and embrace innovation. The service has established processes for supervision and supports personal and professional development.
To provide clinical speech and language therapy services to a defined specialized caseload of adult patients as part of the Stroke pathway team.
To specialise in the assessment and management of communication disorders and dysphagia related to stroke.
To provide a Speech & Language Therapy Service to adults with swallowing, voice and communication disorders.
