To commence in September 2025, the roles will be for 2 tutors working term time. The role is part of the Learning and Early Support Service.
Role 1: Grade 10 term time 30 hours = £25,524.12 - £27,231.93
Role 2: Grade 10 term time 24 hours = £20,419.30 - £21,785.55
This is an exciting initiative with a focus on early years and primary aged children, to train up a range of adults, volunteers from sixth forms, the university, NHS and SALT departments to volunteer in schools and settings to support children to improve and develop their speech and language and reading skills and to train adults on our Skills Bootcamps towards employment in EYFS. The hours of working and term time commitment are an attractive aspect as the candidate is welcome to shape the way they work. You may be a teacher with EYFS/ reception/ primary experience, or an adult learning tutor with a specialism in EYFS and speech and language development or from an NHS/ SALT background with experience of delivering training or carrying out research/ working in this area. We would consider applicants from those teaching childcare courses or working in childcare settings.
You will be managed by the Team Leader on a day-to-day basis and will be strategically managed by the Kirklees Success Centre Team Leader. This is a supportive team, working on a range of exciting learning initiatives and there will be opportunities to engage with a wide range of tutors and provision and share and develop ideas and best practice.
You will help to plan and develop a curriculum/ training course to train up student volunteers to support children to improve their speech and language and reading development and for our Skills Bootcamps in EYFS settings. You will plan with input from EYFS specialists and a range of key partners from relevant organisations. Research to demonstrate impact of the scheme will be an important part of the role and you will work with the team leader and wider colleagues on this aspect.
Partnership working across council departments and schools/ settings and with colleagues from NHS and SALT departments will be a key part of the role and forming links with all agencies to recruit adults and volunteers and harness their skills.
