Our North West route covers Cheshire to Cumbria, including key cities like Liverpool and Manchester, and destinations such as Blackpool and the Lake District. Major stations include Crewe, Liverpool Lime Street, Preston, and Manchester Piccadilly and Victoria

Brief Description
We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Sponsorship Team in North West Route.
You will get to work on an exciting mixture of schemes across the route, including improving accessibility at stations, unlocking and facilitating investment for third party investors, upgrading signalling systems and much, much more.
The role and team are dynamic, fun and varied and the position would suit somebody with stakeholder skills who is commercial savvy.
About The Role (External)
This role involves leading the development and delivery of rail projects by acting as the key interface between clients, stakeholders, and Network Rail. Responsibilities include evaluating client requirements, shaping project scope, creating business cases, and managing budgets, timelines, risks, and resources. The role ensures minimal disruption to rail users, drives efficiencies across project portfolios, and upholds corporate governance and regulatory standards. It also involves contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and oversight of project delivery to meet defined objectives.
In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent
- Experience of dealing with client portfolios and liaising with people at all levels
- Ability to articulate complex business problems into manageable work packages and produce synthesised logical solutions
- Proven ability to write coherently, conveying report / investment information in a concise manner
- Commercially astute, persuasive, and customer focused
- Proven influencing and negotiating skills
- Experience of leading a successful team
We would also like but it isn't crucial to have/to be:
- Experience in management roles in a commercial environment
- MBA or other related postgraduate qualification
- Experience in negotiating contracts to finalisation and ability to demonstrate commercial success

Salary and benefits:
- Salary: Band 3B starting at £46,701 and increasing to £55,411
- Pro-rata annual leave entitlement (28 days contract dependant)
