Turning Passion into Purpose. London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Sports Development Officer to join our LSBU Active team, as part of the Sports Development Department, at our Southwark Campus.
This position offers the successful candidate with the opportunity to inspire the development of our students and community through sport and physical activity. Working as part of the Sports Development Department, this position will be responsible for coordinating, developing and growing our student sports offer, which includes responsibility for coordinating the Sports Ambassador Scheme, Coach Education programme, and a range of targeted initiatives and events throughout the Academic Year, as well as supporting our performance sport, club sport, sports societies and recreational sports programmes.
The postholder will develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal departments, external organisations, and key stakeholders, to develop and grow the sports and physical activity offer at the University.
About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- Experience of coordinating and developing sports and physical activity programmes (preferably in HE Sport)
- Experience of community development, workforce development and coach education
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and customer-service services which meet the needs of a diverse community. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Proven ability to maintain and develop excellent relationships with internal departments, external organisations, and key stakeholders
- Experience in demonstrating the impact of work through data collection and KPI reporting, surveys, qualitative and quantitative analysis, reports and more.
The ideal candidate will be degree educated, be highly motivated, and be able to work on their own initiative, proactively engaging students and community members in sports and physical activity programmes at the University. Furthermore, a keen eye for detail to deliver high-quality programmes, and to develop and grow programmes is essential.
