Description
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Design Engineer to join our team in Harlow. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the layout and design of sprinkler, wet riser and dry riser systems for large scale commercial projects throughout London and the rest of the UK. The role requires a deep understanding of fire protection standards and regulation such as BS EN 12844, BS 9251, NFPA and FM global (would be advantageous). Additional on and off the job training can be given to the chosen candidate if required.
The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure designs meet all requirements and are completed in a timely fashion. Furthermore, the candidate has the opportunity to be fast tracked in to a Design Management role if proven competent and proactive.

We began to undertake larger contracts, which would include system design as well as Installation and maintenance works.
Our servicing and maintenance department was formed in 1989 and, with the founded reputation of the company, immediately began to prosper. Our fully trained engineers have the background knowledge that has helped in the continual expansion of the department.
The Role
Working with project managers to prepare and complete bespoke fire protection drawings utilizing various CAD software such as AutoCAD & REVIT.
The completion of hydraulic calculations to ensure system efficiency and effectiveness.
Coordination with other building services via direct communication with external design team members.
Surveying for design and installation purposes.
Carry out design reviews to ensure team members are compliant to relevant project standards and specification.
Requirements/Experience
Minimum LPCB Basic Design Qualification. Other qualifications would be advantageous.
Knowledge of LPC Sprinkler rules is essential.
Minimum 3 years experience in the design of fire protection systems.
Must be experienced in producing technical drawings in AutoCAD and Revit. Experience in the production of the hydraulic calculations using the Canute or other FHC design software.
Strong communication and presentational skills.
Good attention to detail is essential.
