Maintain an active field presence with learning-focused observations, assurance activities, and audits; document insights, and escalate issues collaboratively with stakeholders
Evolve medium/high voltage safety protocols for global energy storage, balance of plant, and charging networks
Investigate EHS events and MV/HV incidents, conducting root cause analyses, crafting preventive measures, championing Human & Organizational Performance principles, and presenting recommendations to management and teams
Spot operational gaps and pioneer innovative EHS solutions using first-principles thinking, teaming up with engineering, operations, and stakeholders to resolve electrical and wider safety issues
Join EHS meetings to disseminate improvements, learnings, metrics, and best practices; participate in field initiatives to train and empower teams on risk reduction, in harmony with Tesla's vision and values
What You'll Bring
Several years of practical, hands-on experience in MV/HV electrical safety within energy storage, renewables, or EV charging, a track record supporting engineering in dynamic settings
In-depth expertise in MV/HV systems like transformers, switchgear, inverters, and grid standards; knowledge of energy storage, and EV infrastructure is a valuable asset, aligning with the practical demands seen in similar EMEA postings
Skill in creating and rolling out safety programs that meet regulatory needs, with strong grasp of Electrical Standards (e.g., EU Directives, NFPA 70-E, IEEE, NEC) and real-world experience handling energized equipment in industrial contexts. Awareness of local regs (e.g., UK's HSE guidelines, Germany's DGUV standards, France's INRS frameworks, Belgium's Codex, or Netherlands' Arbobesluit) is a plus
Adaptability to a rapidly growing global organization via 'first-principles' methods, paired with excellent communication for engaging diverse audiences from executives to field workers
Robust interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving prowess, multitasking in fast environments, and the ability to operate solo or as a collaborative innovator
Experience leading multifaceted projects with outcome ownership, including EHS training programs for teams
