We are a small, friendly team of lawyers that advise the SRTA (Strategy Risk & Transactions Advisory) business on client contracting issues. The SRTA business helps client’s build, transform and protect their value in an ever-changing global marketplace, advising them on areas such as Mergers & Acquisitions, Strategy & Design, Forensic & Financial Crime, Regulatory and Financial Risk. Deloitte’s UK SRTA legal team is looking for a commercial lawyer at Manager level to support Deloitte’s SRTA practice on complex contracting and commercial negotiations.
The SRTA legal team are comprised of lawyers who negotiate a variety of client contracts, develop product terms as well as negotiate supplier contracts and manage legal and risk issues for the SRTA business.
This role will provide many opportunities to use contract drafting and legal research skills. Contracts might range from very high value managed service and framework agreements with the largest banks and government organisations to corporate clients seeking Deloitte’s assistance with a transaction or corporate reorganisation negotiating Deloitte’s standard engagement terms. This opportunity will require the individual to regularly be involved in commercial contract negotiations typically with external client legal teams and/or external lawyers instructed by our clients.
An essential element of the role will be the individual’s ability to undertake a variety of contract negotiations simultaneously while consistently delivering high-quality, business-focused solutions in a challenging, dynamic and demanding marketplace.
The post-holder will also be a business advisor with a strong skill set to partner with the business, assessing and understanding how business risks can be managed in consultation with the relevant stakeholder.

Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
