Skills and Competencies
- Proven track record of delivering robust backend systems in Python, Rust, C#, Java, or other modern programming languages.
- Strong experience designing and building scalable APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects from concept to production.
- Confident in communication with other parts of the organization, to ensure that we are correctly prioritising and building the correct thing fo our customers.
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with a focus on continuous delivery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to mentor junior engineers.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or integration of AI features into backend systems is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be entrusted with building and maintaining our backend services, you will need to work closely with a variety of teams and stakeholders across the organization.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services that power our core platforms.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define technical solutions and deliver high-impact features.
- Lead architectural discussions and drive best practices in code quality, testing, and performance.
- Contribute to the evolution of our engineering culture through mentorship and technical leadership.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve system performance and developer productivity
