Overall Summary
The primary objective of the Static Data Senior Associate role is to support the Control and Reporting Manager in ensuring a robust, well-governed static data framework across WBS Operations. This includes maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of all static data elements, such as client, security, and counterparty records, through effective controls, regular monitoring, and continuous process improvement. By minimising data-related risks and ensuring operational readiness, the role plays a critical part in enabling scalable growth and operational stability across the business.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the accurate and timely maintenance of static data across all internal systems, including client, security, and counterparty records.
- Process and validate all static data requests, including the setup and amendment of securities and counterparties within WBS systems.
- Conduct regular reviews and reconciliations of static data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and resolve static data exception reports, investigating and rectifying any identified discrepancies promptly.
- Manage the daily pricing of securities not supported by automated data feeds, ensuring timely and accurate valuation inputs.
- Monitor pricing exception reports to identify stale, missing, or incorrect pricing, and ensure issues are escalated and resolved efficiently.
- Support daily reconciliations where static data plays a key role, including WBS wash accounts, stock and cash positions, and ad-hoc reconciliations.
- Coordinate with reconciliation teams to address issues arising from incorrect or outdated static data.
- Review client setup prior to go-live to ensure all operational static data requirements are met and validated.
- Maintain procedural documentation related to static data processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and regular updates in line with regulatory and operational changes.
- Respond to client enquiries relating to static data issues, including missing or inaccurate information, with a focus on providing prompt and clear resolutions.
- Perform control checks to validate data integrity and completeness across key static data fields and systems.
- Assisting the Client Service team in answering any client queries where required
- Work for other members of the team to ensure all work is completed within SLA’s
- Work with other operational teams to for reconciliation break clearance and control checks

- Experience and knowledge of reconciliations, instrument static data and tax reporting
- Ability to foster a strong positive culture (inclusive of the achievement of D&I objectives) aligned to the overall Company culture within a division or significant department
- Track record of maintaining high performance standards; clear focus and commitment to driving great customer outcomes, profitability, and shareholder value
- Ability to maintain a strong risk management and control framework throughout a significant market making or related department, inclusive of the ability to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor risks and the offsetting controls
- Working knowledge of the regulatory frameworks and requirements that apply to the business, including the CASS rules when managing client’s money or assets
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask and deal with multiple issues via different forums.
- Familiarity with financial instruments
- Experience with market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv), custodians, and data management tools.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
- Knowledge of industry platforms such as SWIFT, Markit, DTCC
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with data query tools or SQL is advantageous.
