Position Summary
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented
Stock Control Assistant to join our busy depot in Chadderton. This role is part of our Inventory team and plays a key part in ensuring smooth stock operations – from goods inwards to dispatch and transport logistics. You’ll work closely with the Operations, Field Service, and Transport teams to keep things moving efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications
Stock Management & Inventory Control
- Maintain stock levels and re-order through the requisition process when needed.
- Accurately process incoming goods and escalate any quality or quantity issues.
- Conduct regular stock counts and audits.
- Store inventory safely using manual handling equipment and follow all safety procedures.
- Create kits and issue stock for production builds and after-sales support.
- Accurately record all stock transactions in MRP systems (Oracle/Astea).
Order Fulfilment & Dispatch
- Pick and dispatch parts and kits to support the Field Service team.
- Prepare and complete all associated paperwork to a high standard.
- Respond to field team queries and assist in adding parts to service orders.
Transport Support
- Assist with delivery and collection of goods from other sites and customer locations.
- Support the Transport team as needed to meet operational demands.
General Support
- Report any issues or shortages to the Stock Control Supervisor.
- Carry out other ad hoc tasks as required to support the wider team.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Good communication skills – comfortable dealing with a variety of stakeholders.
- Willingness to operate manual handling equipment (training provided if required).
- Comfortable working at heights using order picker equipment
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience with Oracle or other MRP/stock systems.
- Previous experience in a stock control, logistics, or warehouse environment.
- Forklift/Order Picker/Flexi truck licences (or willing to be trained).
