Job Purpose/Overview
This role leads benefits management at a strategic level to ensure maximum realisation of portfolio benefits targets. A key focus is working across the transformation portfolio to influence senior leaders in the adoption of NERL’s benefits strategy to achieve benefits-led decision making
Other Duties Include
- Development of benefits strategies to ensure achievement of business transformation, performance KPIs and maximising value from investments
- Set and manage portfolio benefits targets, influencing to ensure action is taken to maximise benefit realisation whilst balancing business performance KPIs
- Monitor and report on the achievement of portfolio benefits to ensure there is a clear understanding of performance forecasts, risks and issues
- Manage the development of models and tools to measure, analyse, identify and advise on benefits insights to support decision making at Portfolio level
- Initiate benefit reviews to provide assurance that all portfolio change initiatives are aligned to the strategy, assessed for impact, and that benefit realisation plans are in place
- Define/manage policies, procedures, records and data for benefit management
- Lead the review and assessment of benefits management at portfolio level and implement plans to continue improvement to achieve maturity objectives
- Maintaining knowledge and skills to enable capability development for benefits management including tools, training, coaching and mentoring
- Lead a culture of high-performance teamwork; provide support to, and deputise for, the Head of Requirements & Benefits
Essential Experience
- Degree in a relevant Business/Management area or equivalent knowledge acquired through experience, and training/development
- Stakeholder management skills; able to tailor and communicate information appropriately for engaging and advising at Executive, Director and Senior levels
- Demonstrable experience in driving benefits realisation, ideally with a recognised certification in Portfolio or benefits management
- Highly experienced in the development of benefits management strategies, techniques, processes and tools
- A strategic thinker, attentive to accuracy and quality of work output
- Strong analytical skills; confident analysing information/data, extracting insights and drawing clear conclusions
- Experienced in development/implementation of processes, reports and products related to benefits realisation
- Self-managing, organised leader who is also comfortable working reactively and flexibly during fast-paced business cycles
- Adopts a growth mindset and can coach, mentor and advise junior to senior stakeholders.
- Ideally competent using Power BI
