Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) to appoint to a senior position within the Public Health Team.

The Strategic Partnership Manager for Health Care Public Health will play a critical role in leading programmes within the Health Care Public Health programme.

This programme aims to maximise the benefits of health and care for the population, and to reduce inequalities in access, and outcomes of care, and support the shift towards upstream interventions. This programme of work involves transformational change programmes linking to National and Regional priorities for health and care delivery.

Main duties of the job

This key role within the Public Health Directorate will drive prevention strategy implementation and be responsible for achieving key deliverables.

The post holder will need to be a confident and experienced relationship manager, with an eye for detail and a background in healthcare, partnership working, project management, planning and delivery.

The post holder will have significant experience of North Wales and in working with a range of stakeholders including healthcare services, primary care, senior clinicians and directors within the Health Board, Welsh Government, NHS Wales and Public Health Wales.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications And/or Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Masters degree or equivalent experience in a domain highly relevant to the post
  • Management or professional qualification at postgraduate level or equivalent experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the NHS and the issues facing it particularly in relation to North Wales’ population health and well-being

Desirable criteria

  • Public Health qualified or knowledge gained through experience of working in Public Health
  • Public service – Strategic Leadership qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Significant experience within a Senior Operational Management position
  • Able to provide examples of real progress against key objectives in the development and delivery of services in a complex, multi agency environment
  • Leadership and major change management
  • Successful track record with evidence of business and operational planning
  • Experience of significant resource management - financial, human and capital.
  • Understanding and experience of Value based Health Care and Whole System Approach
  • Experience of developing business plans which reflect/support corporate objectives
  • Proven experience of implementing service change in a complex environment
  • Ability to deliver performance requirements for self and others within tight deadlines
  • Ability to develop constructive and positive networks/contacts with stakeholders and partner agencies at Director Level

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working within or leading Health Improvement and Health Inequalities focused programmes
