Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for a Street Works Advisor within the Commercial team based in Castle Donington.
Reporting to the Street Works Performance Team Leader you will help support the Street Works team and wider business with understanding street works legislation and process, and resolve escalated issues. You will have in-depth knowledge of the street works legislation and act as a focal point for guidance with particular experience of site set up, reinstatement or permit administration. You will maintain the highest levels of professionalism and customer service and be flexible and willing to ensure the team provide the services needed to support the operational business.
Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
As part of our hybrid working approach and in line with our policy, this role allows you to apply for a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can only be considered once your initial training is complete and subject to business need.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on street works matters within the team the wider business and externally as required particularly relating to the Safety Code, Specification of the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (England & Wales) or permit administration.
- Work with the Street Works Performance Team Leader to continually improve working methods and processes, including system or legislative changes.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting around the street works performance of the operational business and delivery partners.
- Ensure all street works charges are recorded, processed and recharged promptly by the team.
- Represent the street works team at internal meetings, either virtually or in person, across the business
- Represent the business at external meetings and events with Highway Authorities, delivery partners and other stakeholders, either virtually or in person.
- Working with the Street Works Performance Team Leader prepare and deliver training and briefings to the Street Works team and the operational business, either virtually or in person
- Assist, where needed, in more complex work activities and ensure escalated queries are resolved quickly and professionally.
- Be prepared to travel to internal and external venues to meet with stakeholders as required.
Ideal Candidate
- In-depth knowledge of street works legislation and experience of using the Street Manager system.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build the trust of key stakeholders.
- A good understanding of how a diverse workforce will contribute to the future success of the business.
- Show initiative, be adaptable to change and put forward ideas to help improve delivery and efficiency.
- The ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Good general knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to plan ahead with a proactive "can do" attitude.
- The ability to effectively organise your own workload.
