Join our team as a
Streetcare Officer and play a vital role in keeping our highways safe, compliant, and accessible for all. This is a fixed-term position until 2030 due to approved funding.
You will inspect and supervise works carried out by developers, contractors, and utility companies, ensuring full compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, the Highways Act 1980, and relevant codes of practice.
Duties include issuing legal notices, coordinating streetworks, enforcing regulations, licensing skips and scaffolding, and ensuring accurate records for cost recovery. Youll work closely with the public, colleagues, and stakeholders, attend site meetings, and represent the authority at local and regional levels. Strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to handle contentious situations are essential.
A current driving licence and flexibility for occasional out-of-hours work are required.
