Join Cumberland Council as a Streetworks Claims Officer
Are you ready to make a real impact on your local highways? Cumberland Council is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Streetworks Claims Officer to manage claims for damage to council-maintained highway assets. You’ll work closely with internal teams, insurers, and legal representatives to recover costs and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role also involves overseeing vehicle crossing applications and investigating illegal excavations, with the potential to attend court hearings.
We’re seeking someone with a relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, strong communication skills, and experience in highway services. Familiarity with legislation such as the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 is essential. In return, you’ll be part of a supportive team within a forward-thinking council, managing budgets up to £1m and contributing to the safety and integrity of Cumberland’s highways.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
