Stress Engineer

Location: Bristol or Isle of Wight

Contract: 12 Months

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

An opportunity for a Stress Engineer to support the PDR phase of a helicopter fuselage development, with a focus on metallic structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and review stress analysis of metallic aerostructures using FEA and hand calculations
• Support concept development, detailed design, and PDR activities
• Contribute to qualification and production of metallic components
• Manage work packages and ensure alignment with delivery plans
• Define and optimise design solutions for new and modified components
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare manufacturing and customer data
• Provide modelling, simulation, and prototyping support
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in aerostructures stress analysis
• Strong background in metallic structures
• Familiarity with aerospace materials, standards, and specifications
• Approver/checker delegation (current or past) is a plus
• Fluent in English
