Lockheed Martin (UK) Ampthill is a rapidly changing, dynamic part of the Lockheed Martin Corporation with both domestic and international customers.
It consists of three business areas focussing on Vehicles, Special Projects and Mission Support, which provide a variety of products and services to the MoD.
This role focuses on the design, build and delivery of Armoured Fighting Vehicles for this contract position.
What will I be doing?
This role represents a position in the Structural Integrity Group as a Contract Stress Analyst / Engineer.
You will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in this field, to allow support, mentoring and guidance to be provided throughout the Company and Customer stakeholder community.
The role will fall within the Structural Integrity Group (SIG), a sub-function of the Mechanical Engineering Department and will be focused on supporting the Pre-Production activities for an Armoured Fighting Vehicle.
The role:
We are recruiting for a Stress Engineer, initially on a 6 month contract basis to be based on-site at our Ampthill, Bedfordshire offices.
This role will suit an experienced Stress Engineer who is capable of undertaking detailed stress analysis using both classical hand-calculations and FE modelling primarily of complex metallic structures and assemblies.
You will have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a critical engineered product environment (Defence / Aerospace / Automotive / Motorsport industry).
