We’re looking for a hands-on Structural Packaging Designer to take on a fixed-term maternity cover. This is a group role working across multiple brands, focused purely on 3D structural design — how packaging is built, performs, and lands on the shelf and your portfolio

A true end-to-end role, you’ll take concepts from first idea through to factory-ready execution, balancing creativity with technical and commercial reality. Expect to spend most of your time in CAD (Esko ideal), refining structures, solving problems, and making designs production-ready.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing 3D structural packaging, mainly in CAD (around 80–90%)
• Taking packaging from concept through to production
• Creating and refining folded cartons and corrugated structures
• Working closely with factories, suppliers, and internal teams
• Improving existing packaging as well as developing new concepts
• Producing samples for internal teams, sales, and PR

What we’re looking for

• Strong hands-on CAD experience (Esko systems)
• FMCG or food manufacturing experience
• Solid structural packaging experience (not graphic design)
• Good understanding of print conversion, tooling, and manufacturing limits
• Comfortable designing for machinery and hand-packing
• Organised, practical, and confident juggling multiple projects
• A portfolio showing recent structural packaging work
