The Opportunity
Edinburgh College of Art is seeking to appoint a proactive, organised and efficient individual to join the Student and Academic Support Service (SASS) as a Student Advice Administrator.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support students to fully participate and succeed in their chosen courses of study, working closely with University academic and support staff and external agencies as required.
This post is full-time 1.0 FTE (35hrs per week, exact working pattern can be discussed upon appointment). There is some flexibility on hours/days worked but availability will be required on a Wednesday.
Your Skills And Attributes For Success
- Tactful manner, good communication skills both verbal and written. May need to deal with difficult situations or be first contact for a student in distress.
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Ability to follow direction/guidance whether given verbally or in writing via procedures notes, policy documents or guidance from senior SASS colleagues.
- Good judgement, using awareness and understanding of procedures and policies to know when cases may need to be escalated.
- Excellent administrative and IT skills.
