Background
The Hub Services team is based in the Aston Webb Student Hub and provide administrative guidance and information on accessing specialist support and deliver a wide range of services from Welcome and Registration to Graduation and beyond
Role Summary
You will be responsible for reviewing and approving student ID card images submitted to the university. Your role will involve ensuring that all images comply with university guidelines. You will approve acceptable images and communicate with students whose images have been declined, requesting resubmissions as necessary.
Main Duties
- Reviewing ID Card images submitted through Online Registration
- Identifying images that do not meet the University of Birmingham ID Card Image Guidelines
- Contacting students whose images do not meet the University of Birmingham ID Card Image Guidelines and requesting that they submit an alternate image
- Escalating any difficult situations / problems to the Hub Services Team Leader
- Cropping and rotating images to meet the University of Birmingham ID Card Image Guidelines
- Preparing a “batch file” to be sent to the IT Department for the external ID card supplier
- Batch printing ID cards for new students (e.g. BIA professional students)
- Printing cards for students requesting a new or replacement card
- Responding to online enquiries relating to student ID cards received via the Hub services Team call management package
Person Specification
- Must possess excellent IT skills (including Microsoft Word)
- Must have experience using photo editing software and picture management tools.
- Must have the confidence and ability to talk to and communicate with a wide range of people.
- Must have the ability to work on own initiative but also must be able to demonstrate a good team working ethos.
- Must have the ability to manage time effectively and ensure that timings/working hours are adhered to.
- Must be able to work to deadlines/timescales
- Must have an understanding of what good customer service is and experience of working in a customer focused/ facing environment previously (e.g. retail, office, reception, another similar role)
