When you’re supplying into the biggest customers in the UK market, your own supplier processes need to be rock solid.

Especially when your business has been growing fast, acquiring five companies since 2020 and expanding its footprint, capability and supplier network. With more growth already planned, they now need someone who can bring strength, structure and real technical leadership to their supplier assurance function.

As SQA Manager, you will take full ownership of supplier approval and performance, making sure every raw material, ingredient and piece of packaging meets the highest standards of food safety, legality and quality. You will run risk assessments, manage documentation, keep the supplier database watertight and lead audits that uncover issues before they become problems.

You will work closely with Procurement to shape sourcing decisions with data-led supplier insights. You will support Technical Services and Quality by providing strong traceability, clear documentation and everything needed for smooth internal and customer audits. When supplier issues arise, you will lead investigations, identify root causes and drive corrective actions that prevent repeat failures.

Alongside this, you will lead and develop a Raw Material Technologist, building capability and embedding consistent, robust supplier management practices across the site.

What you’ll need:

• Food Science, Food Technology or similar degree
• 5 plus years in supplier assurance, technical quality or food safety within food or ingredient manufacturing
• Lead Auditor qualification (BRCGS, ISO or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of supplier approval systems, risk-based auditing and GFSI
