BAE Systems - Supply Chain Tiger Team Lead – 24 month contract – Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria - £74.26 ph UMB or £55 ph PAYE (Inside IR35)

The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). The Role

The Tiger Team Lead is accountable to the Supply Chain Director – Strategic Cost Management and Integrated Systems for providing strategic leadership and subject management expertise across all aspects of Supply Chain management relating to major subcontract activities. Given the need to operate, interface, negotiate with and influence at both Board and Corporate level for both internal and external organisations this role requires candidates that possess a level of experience normally attained and demonstrated at a senior executive level. Using appropriate competencies and capabilities the candidates will be able to formulate and articulate strategies that will shape the acquisition of whole boat supply chain solutions. The Tiger Team Lead will be able to lead direct and indirect reports, influence colleagues, team members and members at all levels from adjacent functions within the Submarines business.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead the Implementation of SCM Practices: Ensure the effective and strategic implementation of Supply Chain Management (SCM) across DN and SSNA, driving alignment with organizational goals, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

• Supplier Acquisition & Contracting Strategy: Define and lead the development of supplier acquisition and contracting strategies, collaborating with senior leadership, legal, and commercial teams to ensure strategic alignment and risk mitigation.

• EAC & Basis of Estimate Scrutiny: Lead the critical review and challenge of Basis of Estimates (BoEs) and Estimates at Completion (EAC), utilizing Lessons from Experience (LfE) to ensure robust cost management practices and the identification of potential savings.

• Cost Savings Initiatives: Lead or support supply teams in identifying and executing cost savings through cost analysis, commercial negotiations, and leveraging supplier relationships to deliver sustainable value.

• Functional Capability Enhancement: Foster the growth of supply chain capabilities through targeted coaching, mentoring, and knowledge transfer initiatives, ensuring the continuous development of high-performing teams.

• Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making at the executive level to drive supply chain performance and business success.

What are BAE Systems looking for from you?

• Experience with contracts exceeding £50m.
• Ability to negotiate/influence at executive level.
• Must have experience managing complex terms and conditions.
• Must have deep commercial knowledge.
• Must have SSR experience (Single Source Regulations)

Security Requirements: SC & UK EYES ONLY

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period.
