Supply Chain Relationship Manager to shape and manage a high-performing supply chain that grows with us.
This is a pivotal role in a programme that is accelerating rapidly — ideal for someone who thrives in strategic, long-term planning and has a passion for collaborative supply chain development.
What you'll be doing
As a
Supply Chain Manager, your main responsibilities are as follows:
- Lead a Strategic Supplier Relationship Management (SSRM) programme across an 8–10 year major works programme.
- Develop and deliver a supply chain strategy aligned with programme goals, growth plans, and sustainability ambitions.
- Facilitate and embed robust supplier performance management, using digital e-procurement systems.
- Collaborate across Balfour Beatty teams (procurement, delivery, commercial, safety, quality, sustainability) and externally with subcontractors and material suppliers.
- Drive innovation, ESG goals, and behavioural safety through structured supply chain engagement.
- Host forums to enhance supply chain development, quality compliance, and capacity readiness.
- Conduct market analysis and supply chain risk assessments for strategic insight and reporting.
Who we're looking for
The Following Skills And Experience Are Required
- Proven experience in strategic supplier and subcontractor management within large-scale construction or infrastructure programmes.
- Familiarity with digital procurement platforms and performance monitoring tools.
- Strong stakeholder management and project leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset.
- Track record of delivering value through supply chain innovations, KPIs, SLAs, and compliance frameworks.
- MCIPS qualification (or working toward) is advantageous.
- Eligibility for UK security clearances (BPSS and SC) is essential.
