Mencap are recruiting support workers in the Bury St Edmunds area (IP32)
About The Role
Youll be supporting both males and females helping them to live as independently whilst ensuring their comfort and happiness. This role includes a mix of hands-on care and fun, community-based activities.
Key Responsibilities
We offer both full-time and part-time hours, and flexibility is essential. Shifts can range from 7am10pm and include:

About The Role
Youll be supporting both males and females helping them to live as independently whilst ensuring their comfort and happiness. This role includes a mix of hands-on care and fun, community-based activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting with personal care, including hoisting and wheelchair assistance
- Administering medication and assisting with food preparation
- Helping manage daily finances and supporting with SALT (Speech and Language Therapy) strategies full training provided
- Encouraging independence in daily life
- Accompanying individuals to activities like:
- Day clubs, seaside trips, shopping, theatre/cinema visits, meals out, seaside trips and the occasional holiday!
We offer both full-time and part-time hours, and flexibility is essential. Shifts can range from 7am10pm and include:
- Sleep-ins (with a flat rate of £63.70)
- Weekend shifts (typically every third weekend off)
- Compassionate, reliable, and flexible individuals
- Comfortable providing personal care and physical support
- All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
