This service is often the first point of contact for those at risk of homelessness where people can have a safe unpressured place to form relationships with staff. We are in a unique position to support some of the most severely excluded individuals, and by building links with partner agencies we play a key strategic role in local efforts to end homelessness within Leeds.
We are looking full-time support workers to support some of the most disadvantaged adults in Leeds experiencing homelessness, addiction and mental health.

Main duties of the job
The role involves building strong professional relationships with supporting agencies to facilitate person centred care. To work using a trauma informed approach with clients to encourage engagement and providing compassionate, informed, choice-based support at every step of the process. Staff will be expected to maintain accurate records, maintain and facilitate communication with partner agencies, complete mandatory and service specific training and have adequate IT skills to enable them to complete these tasks.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, you will provide high quality care and support to our clients to enable them to live their best life. You will be passionate in making a difference to our client’s lives, helping them to fulfil their aspirations and ambitions.

- Ensure that all support and care are provided in a way that protects clients from abuse and exploitation, maintains their dignity, and supports positive risk-taking.
- Each one of our clients is different and has different needs and no two days will ever be the same.
- Support quality inspection processes, cooperating with on-site inspectors in relation to information requests.
- Work always in accordance with Health and Safety requirements, such as Manual Handling, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, infection control, and Risk Assessment procedures.
- Understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate written and numerical records
- Understand or willing to learn how to use computer packages (such as Word, Outlook and the Internet) and to undertake relevant training and qualification in care if required.
- Able to work cooperatively as a team member.
- Able to liaise and communicate effectively with partner agencies and other external stakeholders.
