The Sustainability Research Analyst is a key role for our Greenwheel team, working closely with the Climate & Environment and Social Research leads. The role provides the fundamental analytical support to progress the Greenwheel research agenda across sustainability themes. The right person for this role will be able to draw upon a broad base of existing knowledge and interest across sustainability topics including climate, environment, and human rights, be comfortable with both quantitative and qualitative analysis, demonstrate initiative, carry out independent research, and effectively communicate key conclusions to investors.

 

Key responsbilities

  • Support climate and environment & social research working closely with Climate & Environment and Social Research leads, and with Redwheel‘s investment teams
  • Contribute to, and help lead, the production of high-quality research papers and frameworks for use by Redwheel’s fund managers and, occasionally, the wider industry
  • Build and maintain Excel-based tools for investor use
  • Provide advice on climate, environment, and human rights to investment teams on an ongoing basis to support investment process and decision-making
  • Provide analytical support for investor-led strategic engagement with companies
  • Support broader thematic sustainability research and analytical activities


What We’re Looking For:

  • Independent and innovative thinker with both quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Keen interest and demonstrable knowledge across thematic issues related to climate, environment, and human rights
  • Excellent communication skills – able to explain complex topics clearly to non-specialists and adapt communications to different audiences
  • Highly motivated and able to support projects from start to finish, working effectively with stakeholders
  • Enjoys collaborating and contributing to a culture of openness, discussion, and shared learning 


What You’ll Bring:

  • At least two years‘ experience working across climate, environment, and human rights in finance, consultancy, or research
  • Comfortable working with large datasets in Excel and familiarity with statistical analysis
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the needs of end users (investors, clients, and other stakeholders)
  • Experience working in or with financial sector an advantage
