We are looking for two experienced and enthusiastic Swimming Instructors to join our Active Communities team at Enable! This team has a proven track record of delivering successful physical activity programmes across Wandsworth Borough, catering to diverse populations.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Active Communities Manager, the Swimming Instructors (x2) will be responsible for delivering swimming lessons for 5-15 year-olds of varying abilities based at Burntwood School in Wandsworth.
The Active Communities Team are a passionate team who use physical activity to address wider systemic issues within the borough. We put the person at the centre of everything we do, building innovative initiatives that tackle barriers to accessing physical activity. We are experts at creating lasting changes for individuals and communities.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons for 5-15 year-olds of varying abilities based at Burntwood School in Wandsworth
- Work with other swimming staff to set up, take down and maintain Enable Leisure and Sport's equipment
- Ensure the safety of children and young people in the pool and on pool side
- Independently plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate a series of swimming lessons whilst following Swim England Guidelines
- Provide regular communications to the responsible Sports Development Officer with details of the sessions, highlighting any challenges or successes
- Commit to evening work in term time
- Comply with Health & Safety legislation to ensure safe working practises of all staff, public and contractors in the working environment, in accordance with Enable Leisure & Culture and the venue's safety arrangements, policies and codes
The successful candidate will have
- Hold a SEQ Level 1 and Level 2 Swimming Teaching qualification
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and young people and its relevance to the role of Swimming Instructor, demonstrating integrity always
- Experience of supervising swimming lessons in a leisure of competitive setting
- Experience of working collaboratively, in a team setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to converse with key people (including colleagues, children, young people, other organisations and the general public)
- Be able to manage behaviour to ensure sessions are enjoyable and inclusive
