Syndicate Accountant

The Role

As a Syndicate Accountant, you will support the Lloyd’s Syndicate Reporting Team in the accurate and timely production of all Lloyd’s Syndicate reporting. You will also assist senior accountants in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, producing reports, and improving processes across the end-to-end accounting cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and compile syndicate reporting in line with Lloyd’s guidelines and timetables.
• Analyze technical and non-technical accounts to support audits.
• Support the preparation of interim and year-end statutory accounts and notes.
• Assist with analytical reviews and commentary on business performance and position by class.
• Provide support for UK GAAP entries posted to the General Ledger on a quarterly basis.
• Contribute to the production of the High-Level Plan (HLP) and Syndicate Business Plan (SBF).
• Collaborate with the wider Finance Team to enhance processes and ensure reporting granularity.

Team Support & Collaboration

• Actively support the Lloyd’s Syndicate Reporting Team in achieving objectives.
• Share knowledge and promote best practices within the team.
• Work collaboratively across departments to strengthen communication and efficiency.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and end-to-end process thinking.

About You

• Strong accounting knowledge, ideally with Lloyd’s or insurance market experience.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
