- Our Investments business is a specialist asset manager that focuses on areas where we have both strength and scale to capitalise on the key themes shaping the market, through either public markets or alternative asset classes.
About The Department
The Technology function is responsible for activities related to the strategic direction and control of all information systems and technology capabilities, both internally and externally. This includes system design and programming, network planning, budget planning, database management, and computer operations.
We are seeking a proactive and agile Systems Analyst to join our Client Tribe, to work with the tribe to deliver excellent client and colleague digital experiences and services. The tribe is made up of three squads, looking after the technology across the full client value chain, from marketing and sales, to onboarding and client service.
About The Role
This role will be primarily focused in supporting the delivery of client data across the firm, which is pivotal to our strategy and enabling the business and client. You will help bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that data solutions - built on our Snowflake data warehouse - are aligned with the needs across clients, distribution, product, and investment teams.
This is an infrastructure role, and you will work closely with data engineers, technical leads product owners, and reporting teams to define requirements, prepare and validate data outputs, and continuously improve the quality and usability of our reporting solutions. This role requires a flexible and driven individual to help us shape the future of the client experience at Aberdeen.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with internal stakeholders to understand reporting needs related to client data.
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for the data engineering team.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and enhance data accessibility for end users.
- Maintain documentation of data definitions, business rules, and reporting logic to support transparency and governance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Agile practices, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
- Identify opportunities to reuse existing functionality, simplify processes, and leverage configuration to accelerate solution delivery.
- Utilise AI and automation technology to enhance the analyst role and share best practices with colleagues.
About The Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Proven experience as a Systems Analyst
- Familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouse platforms.
- Ability to think from the perspective of internal end users, with a focus on usability, clarity, and business value.
- Experience working in Agile teams, with proficiency in tools like Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex investment data and identify trends or anomalies.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel-based dashboards and familiarity with SQL and python for querying and validating data.
