BMS System Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and technically driven BMS System Engineer to lead our Test Engineering Team from a technical standpoint. This role is critical in ensuring the robustness, safety, and reliability of our Battery Management System (BMS). You will serve as a key technical bridge between System Engineering and Test Engineering, operating at the intersection of both sides of the V-model to translate system-level requirements into effective and traceable test strategies.
This role suits a hands-on, proactive team player with a high attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for technical excellence. You will play a vital part in meeting the high expectations of our customers and driving innovation in the BMS space.
Key Responsibilities
System Integration & Alignment
- Work closely with System Engineers to deeply understand system architecture and functional requirements.
- Ensure alignment between system design and test development.
Test Case Development & Quality Assurance
- Translate system-level requirements into structured, traceable, and comprehensive test cases.
- Review test cases for completeness, accuracy, and coverage.
- Drive coverage analysis for functional, safety, and diagnostic requirements.
Process & Tool Enhancement
- Contribute to the development and refinement of test automation frameworks, tools, and processes.
- Promote best practices to increase test quality, coverage, and efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with software, hardware, and validation teams to ensure consistency across all development phases.
- Facilitate clear and open communication across teams to resolve technical issues.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain thorough documentation of test strategies, test plans, traceability matrices, and test results.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of BMS architecture and key functions (e.g., SOC, SOH, balancing, thermal management, contactor control, diagnostics).
- Working knowledge of safety standards, including ISO 26262.
- Proven experience in test case development, planning, and coverage analysis.
- Proficiency with tools such as CANoe, Vector tools, MATLAB/Simulink, and test management platforms (e.g., Polarion, DOORS).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- 5+ years of experience in Battery Management Systems, automotive, or embedded systems testing.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, CAPL).
- Knowledge of functional safety and diagnostic testing.
- ISTQB certification or similar is a plus.
