Temporary post with external funding - subject to AFC
This role will lead on the strategic development, coordination and quality assurance of T-Levels Industry Placements (IPs) across the Greater Manchester (GM) health and social care system and at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with NHS Greater Manchester. The post-holder will source and coordinate a sustainable, joined-up placement infrastructure for all clinical and non-clinical placements across the GM system. The post-holder will facilitate and enhance support for T-Level healthcare learners (clinical and non-clinical) in various settings by identifying appropriate practice placements which offer effective learning opportunities. The post-holder is operationally and strategically accountable to the Trust who will be accountable to the NHS Greater Manchester and the Department for Education for its performance management and monitoring responsibilities.
- Lead the strategic expansion of T-Level capacity throughout the GM system, engaging with relevant stakeholders to source industry placements (IPs) for clinical and non-clinical placements.
- Strategically maintain and enhance the quality of existing practice placements through close collaboration with service providers and education providers adopting a combined approach to profiling, audit, and the development of a joint strategic plan.
- Build strong partnerships, engaging with both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, including NHS trusts, HEIs, FE Providers, ICS Northwest Leads, Local Authorities, and voluntary and community organisations to sustain high quality industry placements. This will include extensive travel across the northwest and GM footprint.
- Ensure practice placements demonstrate equality of opportunity enabling each learner to participate in a rich variety of learning experiences and share learning with all professions in the placement area.
- Identify, support and develop under-utilised placement areas ensuring a positive learning environment that is conducive to all stakeholders, and supports sustainable placement provision collaborating with key colleagues and organisations across the GM system.
- Build and maintain a live record of the GM system’s capacity to support IPs and develop this into a long-term process that can integrate with GM wider workforce considerations.
