This is a full-time permanent role offering flexibility on location, hybrid working options and the opportunity to play a key role within a respected and growing private client practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong private client lawyer with a focus on trusts and tax who is looking to work within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment with genuine scope for progression.
The role
You will work closely with partners and senior colleagues, assisting on and managing a varied caseload of trust and tax matters. You will be an integral part of the team, delivering high-quality advice, supporting business development and contributing to the continued growth of the trusts offering.
Key responsibilities:
• Managing trust settlements, trust administration and associated tax advice
• Drafting trust documentation and advising throughout the trust lifecycle
• Delivering work commercially and with minimal supervision
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting business development and profile-raising activity
• Contributing to team growth and mentoring junior colleagues where appropriate
Some travel and occasional out-of-hours working may be required for meetings, training and business development.
The candidate
You will be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with solid private client experience, ideally with at least three years’ post-qualification experience. While the role is trust and tax focused, a good working knowledge of wider private client matters is essential.
You will be able to demonstrate:
• Strong technical experience in trusts and private client work
• Practical experience drafting and administering trusts, including tax advice
• Excellent communication and client-handling skills
• A proactive, commercial approach
• Experience supporting business development activity
• Confidence using case management systems and Microsoft Office
• Leadership capability or an interest in helping grow a specialist trusts practice
Personal attributes
• A collaborative, hands-on team player
• Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Calm, analytical and solutions-focused
• Confident and professional with clients and stakeholders
• High levels of integrity and professionalism
Package
The firm offers a highly competitive remuneration package and a strong benefits offering, including:
• Enhanced annual leave plus bank holidays
• Additional leave for your birthday
• Additional leave over the Christmas and New Year period
• Private medical insurance and healthcare cash-back options
• Enhanced employer-matched pension
• Option to buy additional annual leave
• Group life assurance
• Ongoing training and clear progression opportunities
