London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of a Learning and Teaching Assistant supporting the BA Acting for Stage and Screen within the School of Arts and Social Sciences.The postholder will be expected to deliver exceptional administrative and teaching support to the staff and students on our innovative and creative degree programmes.
You will be supporting the work of students and staff across a range of areas including administration duties, developing social media content and communications, rehearsal supervision, teaching support and the maintenance of studios and technical equipment.
About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- Experience in the acting industry
- A good track record of professional conduct and strong communication skills
- Strong IT skills including experience with Microsoft Teams, Google Docs and Excel programmes
- Good organisational and administrative skills
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have a good understanding of the demands on the contemporary actor for both the stage and screen. They will have experience in current industry practices for auditioning and casting (creating self-tapes, showreels, social media content) and have a good knowledge of the London and UK theatre scene. Most importantly, they will have in-depth, personal experience in a variety of actor training methodologies and experience in assisting in running rehearsals and facilitating practical sessions.
This is a fixed-term post for 12 months.
