The University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Teaching Associate (internal candidates only) to undertake undergraduate teaching as part of the undergraduate Science Foundation programme in the School of Life Sciences.
The primary purpose of the role will be to undertake teaching on the biology, chemistry and maths modules delivered year-round. As well as delivering teaching, the role holder will contribute to module management and administration as well as tutorial support to undergraduates. Making use of pre-existing teaching materials, the role holder will have specific responsibility for identifying the learning needs of students and ensure that the content, methods of delivery and learning materials meet the defined learning objectives of the relevant modules. They will also have responsibility for setting and marking assessments in line with existing module specifications. The successful candidate will also act as part of a team of senior tutors for early years medical students.
You will have experience teaching at Higher Education level with the ability to communicate with clarity on complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers, using high level skills and a range of media along with a PhD in a relative discipline. The post is offered on a part time (29 hours per week), fixed term contract starting August 2025 and ending on the 31st May 2026. Job share arrangements may be considered.
