We are looking to recruit one a Teaching Associate to the Faculty of Science to further enhance our successful and growing apprenticeship programmes.
We are seeking a candidate with experience in data science, and related disciplines of computer science, mathematics, statistics. We are particularly interested in candidates with previous experience of degree apprenticeship teaching, and the ability to understand the needs of apprentices and their employers who need to immediately deploy the skills we are teaching.
As a Teaching Associate, you will be a promising early career teacher with the potential to develop a national reputation in the teaching of data science. Initially, you will focus on supporting our learners in labs and seminars, and as you progress you will lead modules, and ultimately take on management responsibility and lead teaching and learning projects within the school and university. You will be on a career path that has a route to full professor.
You will have the ability to deliver a high standard of teaching through a variety of contemporary methods to support the School’s teaching requirements, within your area of expertise. You will continuously enhance your subject knowledge through research and CPD to ensure it remains current and relevant to the school and its students.
You will be expected to continuously improve your teaching practice as an individual, but also collaborate with colleagues through learning and teaching initiatives within the school, university and national networks. As you progress you will seek and secure funding for enhancing teaching and learning.

This is a permanent position. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 18.25 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. We are open to discuss flexible working arrangement. Job share arrangements may be considered.
