An exciting and rare opportunity is available for an enthusiastic Band 7 Occupational Therapy Team to join and lead our Occupational Therapy Mental Health services for Older people. The role involves working across Wrexham and Flintshire. You will work under the clinical and operational supervision of the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist for mental health in the East. The post holder will be required to work at a higher level of practice, completing assessments, interventions, and rehabilitation programs to assist recovery and maintain skills. Alongside clinical work, you will manage and lead the Occupational Therapy staff working in inpatient/community mental health services. You will need to have experience in leading/managing/supervising staff, along with experience in leading projects and developing services.

Main duties of the job
- To coordinate and lead the delivery of the Occupational Therapy offer to Older persons mental health services.
- To manage, lead, support, supervise and develop the Older persons Occupational Therapy workforce.
- To support the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist with developing the Occupational Therapy mental health service.
- To work as part of the wider Occupational Therapy service to develop and meet Occupational Therapy professional and service standards.
- To work collaboratively with the MHLD division and relevant partners to support service delivery.
We offer a proactive, BCUHB wide, mental health Occupational Therapy team who work together to develop clinical skills and effectiveness across mental health Occupational Therapy pathways. We seek to expand the mental health Occupational Therapy provision across all three areas of BCUHB by evaluating service provision, developing business cases and running pilots. The Occupational Therapy service is committed to ‘lifelong learning’ and evidenced based practice. All staff receive support and encouragement to utilise continuing professional development (CPD) and to maintain a CPD portfolio.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
