Job Overview
A 7.5 hrs per week, 6 monthly secondment for a Band 7 Clinical Team Lead, to cover Thursdays on a weekly basis, in the West Essex Support and Treatment for Early Psychosis Team has arisen within the Service. The Team cover Thurrock, Basildon, Brentwood and Wickford locality sharing Team Base between Grays Hall and Pride House.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6/7 Community Nurse ,with established clinical experience and competencies in working with service users suffering with Psychosis, supporting service users experiencing a First Episode of Psychosis, who is looking to further develop their Clinical Leadership Skills within a Band 7 Clinical Lead Role in the West ESTEP Team.
Previous Clinical Leadership experience is desirable and would be an advantage. You will have clinical oversight of the team overseeing and implementing best practice regarding the treatment and care pathway for the ESTEP service uses and their families. You will provide expertise, support and advice to clinical practitioners regarding all aspects of care including implementation of best practice based on evidence and national guidance.
Main duties of the job
- Offer Support and guidance for relevant staff and support development and implementation of relevant training programmes and support the development of staff and their skills in working within this specialist practice area.
- Supporting the clinical manager with the management of staff including their personal development, wellbeing, supervision and appraisal processes
- Provide advice and leadership to clinical staff related to clinical care including treatment, family therapy and clinical risk assessment and management
- Provide consultation support and supervision to teams on issues related to both nursing practice as well as support Allied Health Professionals within the team
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of Early Intervention in Psychosis Services, the range of interventions that are offered within this service and to support with delivery of this within the West ESTEP Team, to ensure these are in keeping with NCAP and NHS England standards
- Work with the Clinical Manager to ensure that the team are meeting agreed performance/contractual targets, adhering to local targets as well as government initiatives
- Collaborate with the Service User forum in ESTEPs team to ensure that the service is co-produced with those who have experience of living with psychosis to support service development in line with policy and national guidance
