Purpose Of The Job
The role of Team Leader is to control the running of the production plant under the supervision of the Production Shift Manager. Have the competence to perform chemical and manufacturing operations in a safe, effective & efficient manner.
- Capture process opportunities by improving the integrity and reliability of the site assets through effective use of Manufacturing Excellence tools, as well as support the Shift Manager during site emergencies
Main Accountabilities
- Run the Plant in a safe and efficient way and propose improvements to manufacturing and safety systems.
- Be available for plant cover out of normal hours, if needed (on a voluntary basis)
- Communicate within the shift and handover to other shifts in accordance with site standard
- Assist Engineering during the annual investment/maintenance shutdown and during other times where possible
- To assist Factory Services in certain duties, like tanker off-loading and loading
- Actively assist the Shift Manager in operation of the site safe systems of work – Permit to Work Issuer, Plant Isolations, Pre Startup Safety Reviews.
- Bring to the attention of the Shift Manager any deficiencies/non-compliances
- Supervise the Alcotex operators in carrying out any plant duties as required by the Shift Manager (these include, but are not limited to, housekeeping and remediation or deep cleaning)
- Ensure shift loss accounting tool & SAP entries are accurate and timely to maintain OEE data & raw material stocks
- To work to the shift production rota and adhere to Production Shift Handbook
- Compile and maintain batch documentation as necessary
- Ensure raw materials, products and energies are handled efficiently to minimise losses.
- Supervision of external contractors, if & where needed and practical.
- Deputise for Shift Manager absences.
- Actively assist the Shift Manager in ensuring plant downtime is minimised and labour is used efficiently
Minimum Requirements
- Must be educated to good standard of GCSE’s or equivalent
- Good standard of Microsoft Office computer literacy
- Ideally, Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an industrial / chemical or process manufacturing environment
- Detailed understanding of the Alcotex Production process and plant.
