Role Overview
The Team Leader will join the LDC management team, providing hands on, day to day supervision and project management of our paralegal teams (both permanent and contract paralegals) on all projects, including document review and due diligence projects for all the firm’s Practice Groups. The role offers a broad range of work and exposure to different sectors.
Working closely with the management team and our wider Legal Operations team, the Team Leader will develop their practical knowledge and experience of cutting edge legal technology to help maximise the efficiency of the services the LDC delivers. This includes AI document review and automated contract drafting tools.
Additional assistance with business development, marketing and recruitment may also be required.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Supervise teams of paralegals on multiple projects, to include briefing the paralegals to ensure they understand the instructions provided, allocation of work, quality checking work, dealing with queries and general day to day supervision as well as having pastoral and professional development conversations.
- As part of the management team, assist to ensure projects meet their given deadlines and are within their cost estimates, to ensure the client's needs and expectations are met and managed at all times.
- Support the LDC management team with development of guidance notes and best practice documentation.
- Assist with preparation of briefing notes and worked examples, as required.
- Coordinate work with outside vendors, including adherence to strict deadlines.
- As part of the management team and in collaboration with other HL teams, help develop own and the team's practical knowledge and experience with legal technology tools, such as those used for automated contract review and contract drafting.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Assist with the resourcing of project within the LDC team.
Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services.

Person Specification
Qualifications And Training
- UK or Foreign Qualified Solicitor (with a current practicing certificate) or CILEX lawyer.
- Experience in supervision of paralegals, whether on a temporary or permanent basis is essential.
- Previous experience in multiple disciplines, for example Litigation and Corporate or Real Estate practice areas would be a distinct advantage.

- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to locate specific items on the internet.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
