Location: Based at Truro office, covering Mid & West Cornwall
Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Salary: £26,500 per annum + mileage allowance (35p per mile)

About The Role

This leadership role covers a wide geographical area—across Mid & West Cornwall—and is based at our central office in Truro.

About The Role
Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall is seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Manager to oversee the operational delivery of support services for children and young people with additional needs. You will work closely with the Children’s Area Manager to ensure high standards of care, compliance with CQC regulations, and a supportive environment for staff and families alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor care staff through regular supervisions, observations, and quality checks.
- Monitor care delivery and ensure care plans and risk assessments remain up to date and effective.
- Conduct spot checks, respond to concerns, and support care staff both in the office and out in the field.
- Participate in the on-call rota alongside other senior staff.
- Audit documentation and maintain accurate care records in line with regulatory expectations.
- Promote positive relationships with customers, families, schools, and health professionals.
- Support the induction and development of new team members.
Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health or social care, ideally in a community or children’s setting.
- Excellent understanding of person-centred support and care compliance.
- Strong leadership, time management, and communication skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional evening/weekend duties.
- Competent IT skills and confident in using electronic care systems.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care, or willingness to work towards it.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Salary of £26,500 per annum
