About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Lead to support a key customer in the aerospace industry, with a focus on heat exchange systems. This role requires a deep understanding of thermal systems, aerospace design standards, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Work Experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the aerospace heat exchange customer, ensuring clear communication and alignment across teams.
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams (mechanical, thermal, materials, manufacturing) through concept development, detailed design, and product validation.
- Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and oversee the development of innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Manage engineering deliverables including CAD models, FEA/thermal analysis, drawings, DFMEAs, test plans, and compliance documentation.
- Provide technical oversight on qualification testing, validation, and certification activities (e.g., DO-160, AS9100, FAA/EASA requirements).
- Collaborate with program management, quality assurance, and manufacturing to ensure program milestones and customer expectations are met.
- Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers to support talent development within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
- Proven experience in the design and development of aerospace heat exchangers or thermal systems.
- Strong understanding of thermal/fluid dynamics, materials science, and mechanical design principles.
- Proficient in engineering tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards (ASME, AS9100, DO-160, etc.).
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with major aerospace OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Hands-on experience with additive manufacturing or advanced materials used in heat exchangers.
- Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill).
- PMP or similar project management certification.
