Purpose Of The Role
In this role you will manage all aspects of product quality, safety, and legality from the supplier base to the customer. You are responsible to liaise and consult with other departments on all aspects of food quality, legality, and safety within the Category through training and generation of information and to maintain all technical management systems, audits, and due diligence.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Supplier and site compliance
- Develop and maintain documentation, records, and reports related to product quality, safety, and compliance, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Responsible for developing working relationships with suppliers and growers.
- Accountable for managing the due diligence process of the supply chain for example supplier mapping, risk assessments and audit, supplier KPI’s with a view to year-on-year quality improvement plans.
- Ensure supplier and grower due diligence meets all customer business and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards across facilities and supply chain.
- Provide expertise and advice to the business on quality, technical customer requirements, shelf life, waste ensuring compliance with legal and food safety standards
- To develop and maintain systems, ways of working, procedures for audit compliance.
- To manage internal projects agreed with the business or external parties.
- To category manage a pesticide screening programme by risk assessment, by supplier and source of origin.
- To manage visits by local authorities that relate to product quality, safety and legality and ETI and the environment.

- To develop/maintain trust, confidence and effective working relationship with all customer contacts, providing timely responses to requests and delivering excellent customer service.
- Effective management of customer complaints and rejection investigation.

- To actively promote health & safety standards, engage in implementing health and safety protocols, and contribute to a risk-free work environment for all, playing a crucial role in mitigating workplace risks and promoting the well- being of all team members.

Role Specification and Technical Competencies
- Proven track record developing, implementing and managing Quality Systems within the Food/Fresh Produce industry
- Knowledge of third-party auditing to a minimum of BRC standards
- Relevant accreditations or qualifications in food safety and technical
- To have directly worked or to have a clear understanding of relevant accreditation standards, F2F, TN10, Global Gap, Bord Bia, BRC, Food safety
- Excellent customer engagement skills with a passion for delivering for the customer
- Attention to detail and able to work at pace
- Ability to balance customer demands with the best interests of Keelings
- Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
