The Role
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Principal Technical Product Manager to lead product thinking on a key client engagement. You will be instrumental in shaping the development of a new cloud-native technology platform, with a strong emphasis on aligning business objectives and user needs.
This role is ideal for someone experienced in building and running developer platforms, who thrives in complex environments, understands platform and developer-first thinking, and can collaborate closely with engineering, delivery, and client leadership to deliver value at pace.
Key Responsibilities
Product Leadership
- Own and define the technical product strategy and roadmap for a cloud-native digital platform (AWS).
- Establish clear success metrics and ensure delivery aligns with both business goals and internal user needs.
- Represent internal developer-facing user groups (e.g. developers, platform engineers, product teams) to deliver a world-class developer experience.
- Translate high-level vision into actionable, prioritised backlogs and lead their execution through lean, iterative delivery.
- Champion "platform as product" thinking — focusing on building both tools and organisational capability.
Client Collaboration
- Serve as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across technology and business domains.
- Navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive consensus on platform adoption and integration.
- Lead discovery, validation, and experimentation throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Influence and support cultural change towards product-led, platform-enabled delivery.
Team & Practice Development
- Share expertise within the Product discipline, mentoring peers and strengthening capability.
- Contribute to hiring efforts, thought leadership, and the continuous improvement of platform and infrastructure product management approaches.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Product Manager in complex technical environments — particularly platforms, infrastructure, or internal developer tooling.
- Hands-on experience building and running developer platforms, driving adoption, and improving developer experience.
- Strong technical fluency — able to engage effectively with engineers and influence architectural decisions.
- Background in regulated industries or financial services (e.g. payments, banking) is advantageous.
- Skilled at working in hybrid client settings — blending on-site collaboration with remote delivery.
- Exceptional communicator and facilitator who thrives in ambiguity and can bring clarity and alignment.
- Outcome-oriented with a pragmatic approach, driven by delivering business and user value at speed.
