Brief Description
There is an exciting opportunity to join us in a role that is vital to our success. We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer [ETCS] to join our team.
About The Role (External)
The role of Technical Support Engineer [ETCS] is to manage live ETCS events and diagnose past ETCS events.
Role and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing operations and timely fault resolution and minimising disruption to services.
- Work closely with internal teams within Network Rail and other key stakeholders within ERTMS delivery programmes, with the aim of ensuring a smooth transition to a digital railway.
- Using diagnostic tools and manually reading system data to identify trends and reoccurring issues.
- Resolving and sharing lessons on ETCS & GSM-R faults within the system of systems, aiming to minimise disruption and maximise reliability
- Being involved with programme testing activities and validating expected system behaviour.
- Attending and contributing to industry and programme meetings to review and improve working procedures and system behaviours.
- Provide technical information and advice on ETCS infrastructure faults/failures across the industry, acting as a subject matter expert.
- Continuously striving for innovative solutions to drive efficiencies within working methods around supporting ETCS applications.

Starting salary Circa- £48,949
Enhancements to basic pay are payable for unsocial hours working. Overtime is paid extra. An on call allowance is also paid when on call.
