Role Description
Quantum Solutions is seeking a skilled Technical Support Expert to join our team. In this role, you will be extensively involved in day-to-day production-related tasks and provide crucial technical support to our customers of SWIR (short-wave infrared) cameras and payloads. This role is primarily based in Cambridge (UK) but you will be required to travel regularly to our headquarters in Oxford (UK), nationally and internationally to support our customers.
Responsibilities
- Build, test, debug, and document production-level SWIR cameras and payloads
- Develop user guides, application notes, helper scripts, and demonstration materials to streamline support requests
- Conduct technical demonstrations for customers and internal teams (sales & marketing)
- Provide timely and effective technical support to customers via email, phone, and in-person
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to our products
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve product quality and user experience
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a technical support role, preferably in a hardware company
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and software tools
- Experience with documentation and technical writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full, clean Driving Licence
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of technical experience working in the development of imaging camera systems and devices
- Experience in the infrared camera business or advanced imaging industry
- Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking concepts
