This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.
We are looking for a friendly, engaging, enthusiastic person to join the School of Medicine Core Technical Services Community. This role will be based within the School of Medicine Technical Team based at the Royal Derby Hospital site, Derby, a highly skilled and dynamic group supporting multi-disciplinary teaching and research.
The purpose of this role will be to deliver timely and high-quality support for the School of Medicine Anatomy facilities under limited supervision. You will actively take part in laboratory-based teaching activities.
You will be responsible for setting up Anatomy suite classes in collaboration with academic and technical colleagues. The duties will include the moving, handling and care of human cadaveric specimens and teaching models, some of which may be heavy and require a moderate degree of physical effort. You will be responsible for administrative support in Anatomy including attendance monitoring and setting up any hardware and software used as part of anatomy practical classes. You will also support the day-to-day maintenance of the anatomy suite facility.
You must have experience in a relevant role with good organisational skills, excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of manual handling techniques. It is preferable that you have an understanding of the Human Tissue Act and have experience working in a human anatomy unit or a similar environment.
The post is offered on a full-time (36.25 hours per week), fixed term contract until 29 February 2028. Occasional weekend cover may be required to cover open days.
